Medical Accomplishments and Honors
Medical Accomplishments
Dr. Danahey has served on many faculty appointments specializing in Facial
Plastic Surgery. For three years, he was the Assistant Professor of the Department
of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Northwestern University Medical
School. Prior to that position, he was the Assistant Professor of the Department
of Otolaryngology at the University of Illinois. He was also an instructor
for several graduate programs. He taught an international course in Advances
in Rhinoplasty, which was conducted in Chicago. Another course he instructed
was at the 12th Annual Techniques in Head & Neck Surgery at Rush University
where he was the director.
In addition to Dr.
Danahey’s teaching experience, he has written
numerous articles on Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures.
You can find his articles in premier medical journals
throughout the United States. He has also done
several presentations at National Medical meetings
on such topics as, Botox, Reconstruction of nasal
columella and Facial Skin Cancer Reconstruction.
Honors
1997- 1st Place, 7th Annual William H. Saunder’s
Resident Competition
This award is given to the Best resident research project in the department
at the end of the year.
Alpha Omega
Alpha – Medical Honor Society
1997 - A physician is elected to the Medical
Honor Society based on their demonstration in academic excellence
and has shown promise as becoming a leader in the medical profession.
Dr. Danahey is an active member of this society.
Landacre Research
Day Competition, Second Place
1994 - “The role of growth factors in the proliferation of
chinchilla middle ear epithelium during experimental otitis media.” Further
research is ongoing due to the findings Dr. Danahey made at this competition.
